Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the scifi platform and related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by scifi ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement to use the Service. By accepting these Terms you represent that you meet these requirements. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@scifi.app if you suspect unauthorised access. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorised use of your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Upload or transmit malware, viruses, or any malicious code.
• Infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
• Generate, distribute, or store content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, our servers, or any connected systems.
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service without our prior written permission.
• Circumvent rate limits or use the Service in a manner that degrades performance for other users.
• Use the Service to build a competing product or service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without notice.

4. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses large language models (LLMs) from third-party providers to generate responses. You acknowledge that:

• AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. Always verify important information independently.
• AI outputs do not constitute professional legal, financial, medical, or other regulated advice.
• You are solely responsible for any decisions you make based on AI-generated content.
• We do not guarantee that AI outputs will be free from bias, errors, or harmful content.

5. Integrations & Third-Party Services

The Service allows you to connect third-party platforms (Google Workspace, GitHub, Basecamp, WhatsApp, and others). By connecting an integration you authorise scifi to access and act on data within that platform on your behalf, within the scope of the permissions you grant. scifi is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or actions of third-party services. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

6. Data & Privacy

Our collection and use of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our IP

The Service, including its software, design, trademarks, and content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your internal business purposes.

7.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload or create using the Service ("Your Content"). By using the Service you grant us a limited licence to process, store, and display Your Content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not claim ownership of Your Content.

8. Organisations & Teams

If you create or join an organisation workspace on scifi, the organisation owner may have administrative privileges, including the ability to add or remove members, configure integrations, and view usage statistics. Conversation content remains private to the individual user who created it unless explicitly shared.

9. Payment & Billing

Certain features of the Service may require a paid subscription. Pricing, billing cycles, and refund policies will be presented to you before you subscribe and are incorporated into these Terms. All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCIFI AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $100.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless scifi and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting your account from the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, with or without prior notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 7, 10, 11, 12, and 15 survive termination.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will provide at least 14 days' notice of material changes via email or a prominent notice within the Service. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes.

15. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If that fails, disputes will be submitted to binding arbitration or, where mandatory arbitration is not permitted, to the courts of competent jurisdiction.
